Giving Back with Rebuilding Together Seattle

JS Painting Company believes in the value of service. That's why we're partnering with Rebuilding Together Seattle in order to give back. Sammy was contacted by a college friend, Claire Oatey, in the fall of 2012 to help out with a project for Rebuilding Together Seattle. We've been in touch  ever since and in the next couple of weeks we will be getting this work done. Right now we are lined up to do one North Seattle home at no cost whatsoever. Mallory Paint store will be donated high quality Benjamin Moore paint and JS Painting Company is donated labor and soft supplies. We're also looking into doing a veterans' home in Columbia City. The Seattle Vietnam Veterans Leadership Program is a nonprofit that owns a home in Columbia City that houses 6 homeless veterans for up to 2 years.  Residents must remain sober and be either working or in school. The house needs exterior painting and we are well positioned to help them with this.

Rebuilding Together Seattle provides donated repair services for homeowners in need so they can continue to live independently in warmth and safety. Rebuilding Together Seattle was established in 1989 and is part of the national Rebuilding Together organization (formerly Christmas in April). We are a volunteer, charitable group and repair or rebuild homes at no cost to low-income homeowners, particularly those who are elderly, disabled or families with children.

"In an effort to help others live independently in warmth and safety, Rebuilding Together Seattle (www.rtseattle.org) focuses on providing low-income homes and non-profit facilities with critical repairs, modifications and energy-efficient upgrades at no cost to the individuals served.  This spring, RTS is partnering with JS Painting Company to help Cora, a low income and elderly homeowner living with her son in NE Seattle.  Due to the restrictions of Cora's reverse mortgage and homeowners insurance, Cora needs the exterior of her home painted in order to remain in her home.  Currently, the wood siding completely lacks paint and certain areas are rotted.  JS Painting Company is donating the labor and supplies, while Benjamin Moore is donating the paint."

JS Painting Company is always looking for new ways to help. Our commitment to service throughout JS Painting Company has been a building block for success. We believe you should be able to work as hard for others as you do for yourself. If you or someone you know is involved with an organization that might be a good fit, give us a shout. There is only a small window to do exterior painting during the summer and generally speaking it is our busiest time. So get to us quickly before our schedule gets too crowded for more work. Exterior painting season waits for no one!!
