St. Luke's Episcopal in Ballard - Review Benjamin Moore Regal Select

This winter JS Painting Company collaborated with Cotswold Carpentry and Rev. R.C. Laird to revitalize Bennett Hall at St. Luke's Episcopal in Ballard. Before our handy work the hall was oddly painted with a pale pastel yellow and purple. There were dated roman blinds and misplaced wall hangings, but we took them all down, bringing in more light and removing distractions.

We painted the hall with Benjamin Moore's Regal Select Eggshell in the color Silver Satin (856). Then, with the help of Dave at Cotswold Carpentry, we erected large timbers to frame a room divider. We stained the timbers with Old Masters Wiping Stain. Matching the existing wood work was a challenge because there were multiple types of wood. Not only that but the stains were varied and very faded. Old Masters is a good stain for basic matching and we ended up with something that matched pretty well.

Regal Select is a quality product. As with most Ben Moore products, it's on the thicker side. It's real sticky too - if it's hard to wash off your hands, it's gonna stick to the wall. It covered well despite the funny colors we were dealing with, and we didn't have problems with flashing. I get it at the $40 price point and think that it's a decent product at that cost.
